Compassionate. Professional. Confidential.
We are a team of therapists who are passionate about providing a professional, compassionate and confidential service. We put you at the centre of everything we do, so that you can be confident in getting the support that matters to you.
Due to high demand, we have vacancies for CBT and EMDR therapists. Flexible, part time hours available. Please contact us to enquire.
Counselling is a collaborative process where you meet regularly with a trained therapist to explore your thoughts, feelings, and challenges in a safe and confidential space. It is a supportive relationship grounded in empathy, trust, and acceptance.
At Time for Wellbeing, counselling draws inspiration from a range of therapeutic approaches, empowering you to access your own inner wisdom and resilience.
Sessions typically last one hour and take place over an extended period. As we work together, ideas or perspectives may be gently offered to support reflection—but you will never be told what to think or do. This is your journey.
In the early stages, we’ll take time to explore your goals, expectations, and any concerns you may have. We’ll also co-create a personalised working agreement that reflects your needs and values.
Counselling is not a “quick fix” or a process of being “fixed.” It is an evolving journey of becoming—developing deeper awareness, new coping strategies, and a greater sense of self. Over time, the hope is that you will feel increasingly resourced within yourself, so that the need for therapy naturally falls away.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or CBT, is a talking therapy proven to successfully treat many common mental health problems, including Depression, Social Anxiety, Panic Attacks and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
We begin by exploring the problem you are facing, and coming to a joint understanding of what we're dealing with. You'll be asked to set some goals, so your therapist is clear about what you want to achieve through therapy. We then work together to identify the maintenance cycles and form there you will learn skills and techniques which will help you break those cycles and regain control over your emotions and reactions. The more you practise the skills and techniques in-between sessions, the quicker they become second nature.
CBT usually involves weekly sessions. It is very much about working in partnership with your therapist, problem solving together any barriers or difficulties without judgement,. This process ultimately enables you to become your own therapist, so that after therapy ends, you can take the skills you have learned into your everyday life.
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, or EMDR, is a therapy which works with past memories, helping us to heal so that historical events no longer effect our current lives. It's a therapy that was originally designed to treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and we now realise it can also help with many other difficulties such as complicated grief, anxiety and phobias.
Our brain processes day to day events and information during our sleep, which is why we often say we'll sleep on it when needing to make a big decision. However, when something out of the ordinary happens that triggers our threat response, our brains might have difficulty processing it. This can leave us with an unprocessed memory or memories, which can be triggered by seemingly non-threating events and situations.
EMDR uses bilateral stimulation, (which might be watching a light move side to side, or hearing sounds left and right through headphones), whilst holding the unprocessed memory in our mind, to allow our brain to naturally process it. As our brain makes new connections and get different insights, we find our reactions change and we stop being triggered. It can be a remarkably powerful treatment.
We are registered with insurers such as AXA, Vitality and Aviva for CBT and in many cases, we are able to invoice the insurer directly. Please call to discuss the process with us if you wish to use your private medical insurance.
We have a welcoming therapy office in a convenient, yet discreet central Bournemouth location. We can also offer virtual appointments online upon request.
We are accredited with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists, the lead organisation for CBT in the UK and Ireland. This gives you peace of mind that your therapist is appropriately qualified and meets the highest standards regarding supervision and professional development.
I am a compassionate, non-judgemental therapist with over 25 years of mental health experience in both the NHS and private practice. I set up Time for Wellbeing in 2018 to offer a quality, professional therapy service which is tailored to your needs, and based on the best available research and evidence, to give you the nest chance of achieving your goals.
I am qualified in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Compassion Focussed therapy (CFT). Having a broad range of therapied to draw upon allows me to tailor a treatment plan according to your needs and goals.
I have a special interest in working with trauma, OCD and neurodiversity, although I'm open to working with all kinds of concerns and problems, as long as I have the right skill set to help. I have a passion for therapy and a genuine desire to listen, understand and hold the space you need to be able to heal.
My name is Sarah Sinden, and I am a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor.
I work from a Person-Centred Approach, which means our sessions will be led by you. Together, we walk side by side to explore any issues, patterns, or resistance you may be experiencing—at your pace and in your own way.
I also draw on Transpersonal and Humanistic perspectives, which allow us to consider the whole person: mind, body, spirit, values, beliefs, needs, desires, and experiences.
I offer a gentle, grounded presence and a calm, safe space to talk about whatever is going on for you. Above all, I provide a non-judgmental environment where you are invited to bring your whole self—just as you are.
Through my own personal experience, I’ve seen how counselling can be a powerful and transformative tool—not only in difficult times but also as a path toward personal growth and self-discovery.
